Cresta de los 15 Gendarmes del Alba

It’s 6 in the morning when the alarm clock fires up; its time to get started! My very good friend and teammate Guille has prepared some fresh avocado toasts and poured “Chai Tea” to provide us with energy we need for today’s adventure. We are ready to go, the backpacks set and our motivation for today’s challenge is above sky levels… what else would we need?

Now 7 am, time to focus on the task. Our main goals for today are getting to learn more about one of the most symbolic summits of the Benasque Valley, the “Cresta de los 15 Gendarmes del Alba” and most importantly, enjoy the journey. This crest is well known for its demanding 1000m length and 500m incline that include technical and aerial maneuvers to reach the peak of “Pico del Alba” (3118m).

After an epic activity full of adrenaline, peace, and focus, we are almost back in the parking ready to head home realizing how incredible the surroundings are and totally in love with the mountains around us.
